The Poppe + Potthoff Technology Center houses the prototype manufacture for common rail applications, diesel injector rails and high precision compinents for worldwide customers in the automotive sector.
Here you will find the design and engineering specialists, here, all Poppe + Potthoff development processes are pooled. The complete processes for the production of common rails, high-pressure injection lines, pressure relief valves and high pressure pipe are mapped in the Technology Center.
Design: The products are designed based on the customer’s designed space data. For this purpose Poppe + Potthoff uses the latest CAD and FEM programs.
Prototypes: The Engineering Team develops the technical drawings on the basis of 3D models; prototypes are produced according to these in the in-house prototype construction on near-series production machines. Often the customer can be provided with these prototypes within a few days. The state-of-the-art measuring laboratory guarantees first capability statements at a very early stage.
Validation: The first prototypes are put through the acid test in the in-house test laboratory or in part also by the Poppe + Potthoff Team on the customers’ engines, for example for high-pressure impulse tests. For validation, burst pressure test stands (up to 12,000 bar), impulse test facilities (up to 6,000 bar) and test facilities for static and dynamic tests are available in-house. Vibration analyses are conducted in-house and at customer’s premises.
All tests and examinations are documented and provided to the customer in qualified validation reports and test reports.
